Always enjoy listening to the commentary on the Torah portions. Thanks
Which portion should we be reading this week ending September 23

  • RONALD KLINE says:

We love these studies! Is there a way to pause the study without scrolling all the way to the start and then having to try to find your place again when you restart? Are these dated so we know when they were recorded? Thank you for the incredible effort the team has put into these; they are a great blessing and resource!

  • Kaal Schneider says:

Man! That’s a whooooooooole lot ifvScripture

  • MARIA VICTORIA HUHES says:

Why we are not studying Isaias 53?

    • Joseph Gates says:

Great question. The prophet pearls are studies of the Haftarah Parashot. A parashah is a section of text in the Tanach mostly corresponding to a paragraph. The parashah for Isaiah 53 begins in 52.13 and ends with 53.12. This section is not included in the weekly readings of the Halftarah so Nehemia and Keith don’t have a Prophet Pearl for it (too bad). Nehemia does cover Isaiah 53 elsewhere, though.

      Hope this helps.

      Joseph

  • Elijah Jordan says:

I STILL, after all of these years, listen to this for reference. It remains one of the best projects that you three produced. I’d love to see similar projects in the future. Thank you

    • Kaal Schneider says:

Sooooooo man wonderful teachers today. To think, at one time I had no interest
      Praise God for waking up.

  • Angelo Gonzalez says:

I noticed in Joshua Chapter 6, the taking of Jericho took 7 days to complete. was there a Sabbath day that was not honored?

    • Bob Searle says:

The 7637 ‘seventh’ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י yom was spent circling the city 7651 seven שֶׁ֣בַע times.
This, my opinion, is that Israel was to know that nothing they do on that day was winning in battle. In battle, one does not allow enemies of God’s people to further their cause because of you resting while at war.
Their also is, Deuteronomy 28, the knowledge you do what is necessary in war, specifically a siege (Donkey head eating 2 Kings 6-7). Also, they ate one of their children, bemoaning the second baby was not given to the community for food.

  • bonde j Eulberg says:

I enjoyed the study on prepositions. I am studying how to read and write Biblical Hebrew. A professor call Ben Gigi said in Israel most speak with the Sephardic sounds and miss the difference between the aleph and ayin. You confirmed that in this teaching as well. Thanks for your humble attitude.

  • Jeff E. Brannon says:

does Nehemiah have any teaching on if we are required to write the Torah? Some hold to this where Moshe commanded Israel to write “this song”.

  • Lawrence says:

Nehemiah, I would like to know if you have any insight into the Shapiro scroll. This may be old news but I would like to get your take on this document (lost?!) if you have a moment.

  • Lynette Kessanis says:

Nehemiah thank you for sharing your wisdom from a Hebrew perspective.
I’ve learnt precious things since coming out of the gentile mentality and learning Hebrew perspectives.
I’m so thankful for you and Keith Johnson and also Michael Rood too.
    Many blessings in YEHOVAH ????

  • Amy Royer says:

Thank you for your sacrifice by walking away from mans traditions. You have opened up the door to understanding of truth. You have confirmed the so many things that I felt in my spirit. One why are we not following Holidays in the Bible? Why are we worshiping on Sunday? Been asking questions since I was child. The same issue with Pharisee is in churches. We got people who don’t read the Bible but they will listen to Pastor as word of Lord. This is religious spirits infestation in churches. I would love to learn Hebrew. Do you think I could and what do you suggest. I’ve always thought when I read the Bible wish I could read Hebrew. Never thought it possible. But maybe I could.

    • TobiYah says:

Praise be to The Most High for calling you to the narrow way. John 6:44, 6:65, 3:27 & CH 17.
Church is from the germanic Kirke/Circe. Same origin as Circus. Circe is a sorceress. The “church” was never intended to be the called ones, but a place of deception and abominations.

    • Marko Ristaniemi says:

      Hi Amy
It sure is possible to learn to read biblical heabrew. It require hard work, but under a good teacher it can be done. I managed to go through a basic course and it has helped me to search and understand original meaning of scriptures.

      Blissings,
      Marko

    • Holly says:

Yes, you can learn. Online videos and resources, books, etc. I’ve started small and each new word or concept blesses me so much and I now pray in Hebrew before meals. It is incredible.

  • Mitzi says:

I like the commentary that Nehemiah Gordon had on “Oaths” to God or in another word “Promises” made to God. Would the scripture in Matthew on The Parable of the Two Sons fit into the commentary he talked about? And, also, can you then understand the verse in the book of Luke, “whoever “hears” and then “acts” on the word is my brother, sister and mother. Meaning that we are tied in together as God children in the doing & acting together by His word.

Tell me the differences between Sephardic and Kararite. Do Kararite study the mysticism of the Torah?

    *******************************************

28But what do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first one and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’

29‘I will not,’ he replied. But later he changed his mind and went.i

30Then the man went to the second son and told him the same thing.

‘I will, sir,’ he said. But he did not go.

31Which of the two did the will of his father?”

    “The first,j” they answered.

  • Devra Waterman says:

So I noticed not all the chapters and verse from the prophets are gone over. This is sad because I’m particularly interested in Malachi 2:16 which has quite a few differing translations. Can anyone shed light on whether it is Yah who despises divorce or the husband in that verse?

    • Bernardo says:

That topic is addressed somewhere else in detail, I think in the Torah portion concerning divorce. It’s the man who hates divorce. Shalom!

      • Aldi says:

Malachi 2:13-16 along with Matthew 19:8 both shed light that the Creator of marriage hates divorce……

        • Matthew Chamberlain says:

Then why does Yehovah serve a bill of divorce to Israel in Jeremiah 3:8? What does He hate? Divorce or the hardness of hearts?

  • Alfred says:

I have been study the Bible and I can only found out that , there is no angel woman .. but only man .who are angle …. My question again … what is the meaning of God ??

    • trefong says:

God has always existed and always will. In the beginning there was nothing. God spoke and the universe sprang into existence. He created the Angels to be immortal beings and he created them before the creation of this world. Just because there are no references to female Angels in the scripture doesn’t mean they don’t exist. They are mentioned in the apocryphal writings. There are many who would argue that the entire heavenly host are all males. Why did God create everything? I would suppose he was bored and desired companionship. He is kind and loving to the kind and loving but, he punishes the wicked. His Kingdom is coming and will be established on the earth. We are looking forward to the arrival of the Messiah. Keep studying his word, there are great things in store for his people! His word will guide your feet as you journey down the path of life! Shalom! ✡️

  • Mary Fagan says:

Nehemiah, end part of Jeremiah 23. What does all the talk about ‘the burden of the Lord’ mean? Any commentary available on this? Thanks.

    • Rya Taihutu says:

Simply said: it is the prophecy from the heart of the Lord said to the prophet
      Correct me if i’m wrong

  • Rebecca Honeyman says:

Nehemia, every time I listen to these wonderful teachings, there is more and more information. I am so grateful to you, and your efforts on our behalf. Keep ‘getting it out to the people’, it’s a blessing to us all.

  • joel ensinia says:

There’s a portion when you guys discuss enoch when “God took him” there was a discussion you guys had that the same words were used for someone else’s death but no hoopla over that because it doesn’t fit their belief. Which portion was that please? It’s not in the first portion.

  • joel says:

I can’t find the Torah portion that you speak about enoch and a similar phrase in regards to someone’s death… could you please tell me which portion this is? Thank you so much!

  • Mark says:

Shalom, would Yehovah support the ban on His name by naming Messiah Yeshua instead of Yehoshua? Confused?

  • Lori says:

How do I know what portion we are on? What portion falls on what date?

  • Elissa says:

Do you think you will ever do a study series on complete books, like Isaiah?

  • Dagny Beck says:

Keith, Nehemia, I am so grateful for your conversations on scripture. My handicapped son and I listen to them everyday and have gotten so much more from your perspectives and deep thoughts, it gives us a new hope and hunger for more. Thank you both so much. It truly is like two shining lights on the same subject lighting more fully the truth.

  • Michael Gibson says:

    Shalom Nehemia,

I’m a 62 year old east Texan, ( The Creator in his perfect wisdom realized in his perfect wisdom , not everyone could fit in to Israel , so he created Texas ) I could go on ad nauseam with stories about my life. I did want to share one . Since I was old enough to remember anytime I picked up a magazine , not a book , I would hold it in my right hand and flip through it from front to back using my left hand . Often it would occur to me that this behavior was a bit odd but it felt natural.
Inspired by your appearances on ” Shabat Night Live” I began to study biblical Hebrew. I ordered a used Hebrew Bible printed in Israel I believe by Mosad Harav Kook, Imagine my surprise when after properly orienting the Bible it was in my right hand and I was flipping the pages from back to front with my left hand ! Something or nothing ? everyone has their own opinion , just like everyone has an asterisk * , as for me it does seem like another small message to me in a long string of messages small and great I have received in my life , you just have to be vigilant to hear and see them.

    Thanks ‘
    Mike

    • Michael Gibson says:

I should have said back to front , sorry.

      • Janlyn Gosse says:

Hi Mike, Just wanted to let you know that I have had that exact same thing jin my life. When I learned about reading Hebrew and saw how it fit in, I had a big “Ah ha!” moment. That little thing delights me to this day.

    • daniel says:

Me too, and after studying a bit of Hebrew I would start explaining and showing some things to others without the Right-to-left reminder (assuming they would already know). I still find it all very curious. Got my brother-in-law a YHVH decal, and he didn’t know which way was right side up, assuming he knew since he is a highly regarded Bible teacher. I pray YHVH removes the blinders from my own eyes, and thank Him for Nehemia and the patience of Job.

      • Janlyn Gosse says:

Daniel, That is so cool! It is fun to hear about others who have experienced similar things. Good for you for sharing the things we have learned – such as passing on the decal. The more all of us start dropping the seeds here and there, the more they will start to grow and create a beautiful garden!

    • Asim says:

Thank you for Mossad Harav kook

  • JW Brakebill Jr. says:

Greetings. I have just listened to my first lesson of Pearls – Hosea 12:12-14:9. With so many false doctrines in Christianity, years ago I began challenging, and often rejecting, the teachings/doctrines of “men.” Therefore, I came to depend upon the Holy Spirit of God to teach/guide me into all truth. Is 54:13; Ps 71:17; Jn 6:45, 14:26, 16:13, etc.. Thus, I have acquired “numerous” translations and versions over some 35+ years of study/research for insights, knowledge, tidbits of Wisdom, and understanding, of the Creator God of Heaven and Earth. Yet, it appears that none of them are as accurate in translating into English as Nehemiah’s renderings. Since I don’t even know the Hebrew alphabet, a copy in Hebrew would be of little benefit. So I ask, in searching for truth, what translation into English would Nehemiah recommend to gain the most accurate knowledge/understanding? Thanks ever so much and blessings to all Israel; with a special thanks to the Jews for the trials and tribulations they’ve endured over the centuries, and their faithfulness in preserving the words and commands of our Magnificent Creator. J.W. Brakebill Jr.

Seems that the link to Prophet Pearls “Vezot Haberachah” (Joshua 1:1-18). Is wrong. Is there a corrected link?

  • nowel rangel says:

Praise YeHoVah, I found Nehemia and Keith again, after about 2 years from today, it fills me with joy to find you guys still together ministering. You guys produce meat when you work together, I wish I could say that about everyone that speaks the word of YeHoVaH. Don’t stop your labors you guys ARE changing the world, you have changed mine with YeHoVaHs word, you make it easy to understand or shema if you will. YeHoVaH bless you both Nehemia and Keith, I encourage you to continue your work. You can count on my grain of support.

  • Mark R Sadler says:

So amazing! You and Keith have single handedly opened my eyes to the beauty of the Torah and Prophets. My faith is so much more complete and deep. Your podcasts accompany me on my daily commutes.

I really hope you two do more collaborations; this definitely helped spiritus life. What a blessing to hear you both

  • Kathy S. says:

I’ve only just begun to listen to the good teaching that you and Keith Johnson bring. Some years ago I struggled through your book, “Hebrew Yeshua vs. the Greek Jesus, then set it aside. I dug it out and have really been enjoying your insights. Thank-you so very much.

  • rozain says:

Could you please give me Isaiah 9:6 from the Original Torah. How is the Almighty God (KJV) translated?

  • Pari says:

Nehemia….is there a PP recording for Naso? The link doesn’t work for Judges. Thank you. We are really enjoying Prophet Pearls. We’re taking them at our own speed, so we are ‘behind’ the scheduled readings.

  • Maurice J. Manley Sr says:

Hi Nehemia! I just finished listing to prophet pearls on Judges 13:2-25, and there where questions asked about ” if an angel was seen or if GOD was seen.” I believe that both were seen in one manifestation, by that I mean that we can not limit GOD, and as you have said putting GOD in a box. And while we are on the subject of speaking about GOD, I believe that according to John 1:1 that GOD is the word, and that everything that we are and the world that we see is made up from the very source that He spoke out of which is, the very form of who He is. So, His word is very powerful! Many people talk about God but don’t really know who or what God is, so the word God is used loosely in our culture, with no actual relationship with him. These are my thoughts, hope they where helpful!

Wow! Torah Pearls and Prophet Pearls reminds me of a story done some years ago. https://youtu.be/mNpQ6kM8ANo

  • Reyes Nava says:

As a gentile who has joined himself to YHVH, To minister to Him, and to love the name of the YHVH, To be His servant and keep from profaning the sabbath and hold fast His covenant –
There remained a concern that I would be as the foreigners who were resettled in Samaria during the time of King Hosea who “did not know the manner of the God of the land” hence bringing judgment on their head.

But the Holy One of Israel has sent a teaching priest who loves truth and peace to dwell among the gentiles, his name is Nehemia Gordon. He will teach us the “manner of the God of the land” and how we should fear his name.

It would be good to take a firm hold of Nehemiah’s “garment” and say “We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”

    • Angela&Dale Adams says:

I agree with your comment, we are living Zachariah 8:23 prophesy with Nehemia.

    • Brian says:

reyes – that goes against scripture – for it says that under the blood covenant of jesus there is neither jew nor greek

      • Reyes Nava says:

        Brian,
Scripture clearly states and Yehovah has spoken (Isaiah 56) that it is the gentiles (greek) who join themselves to Yehovah and they become part of Israel (just like Caleb the Kenizzite, Rahab the harlot, Ruth the Moabite and Uriah the Hittite).

They will not be rejected. (verse 3)
“Let not the foreigner who has joined himself to Yehovah say, “Yehovah will surely separate me from His people.”

They will embrace Yehovah and keep His Torah. (verse 6 & 7) no blood required.
“Also the foreigners who join themselves to Yehovah, To minister to Him, and to love the name of Yehovah, To be His servants, every one who keeps from profaning the sabbath And takes hold of My covenant; Even those I will bring to My holy mountain And make them joyful in My house of prayer…

They will be gathered to Israel and become His people. (verse 8)
“The Lord Yehovah, who gathers the dispersed of Israel, declares, “Yet others I will gather to them, to those already gathered.”

So, since this is straight from the mouth of Yehovah anything contrary to it cannot be scripture (for Yehovah does not change).

In a follow up to my last post. Today a European Union court on Wednesday ordered the Palestinian group Hamas removed from the EU terrorist list for procedural reasons, but says the bloc can maintain asset freezes against Hamas members for now.

Nehemia, I look forward eagerly to each of the “Pearls”offerings. Might I ask that, before you dive into the books you’re discussing, you provide some context? A brief timeline; who were the reigning kings, status of Israel and Judah, contempoary prophets, relationship to other prophets in the timeline. This would add perspective and be a great help.

shalom everyone. In the spirit of prophet pearls, just based on current world affairs, I think we are living in the most important period in human history, why?
consider the following point as we approach the jubillee year for the city of jerusalem, bearing in mind nearly all endtime prophecies in tanach point to jerusalem, There has been an increase in provactive statements among the nations of a war potentially with the use of man’s most destructive weapon. The arabs have formulated a draft for the UN recognition of a plaestinian state and the end of jewish occupation by November 2016 the eve of the jubillee year for jerusalem and it seems they, the arabs, have found a willing partner in the form of the Europeans. can anyone says TEN TOES OF DANIEL A MIXTURE OF IRON AND CLAY. The recent assassination attempt on the life of Yehudah Glick as heighten tensions regarding the temple mount and maybe I am clutching at straws but how ironic it is that the man whom they tried to kill bears the name of the most prominent son of Israel can anyone say Zecharyah 12. The jordanians who seemingly hold the keys to the temple mount having calling for an end to the peace agreement with Israel though at the time Yehudah was being carried off to European lands he took the opportunity to take possession of what does not belong to them can anyone say Tehlliym 83

I like the warming the king ‘thing’ let’s bring it back, imagine what we’d be saving on heating and wheat packs and so on. And gaining on compassion and caring. Not for a moment ever did I think that she was doing anything other than warming the king … Keith. Really not. Reign in your imagination is what I say, you’re otherwise always so good in reading what is there as opposed to interpreting …
Thank you both for another lovely Sabbath reading.

Thank so so much for the courage in explaining scriptures looking at it from two single eyes with one vision.

Isa.54 has always been a bit of a mystery to me in the fact that it does not “seem” to speak of Israel. To me it spoke more of Eve, as she had been forsaken, had to leave her comfortable habitation, to never return to it and therefore never had her marriage blessed by her Maker, as this would have meant her children would have been blessed also.

She was not allowed to take of the tree of life and therefore she died.
This means physical death followed as an aftermath of her unbelief in Jehovah, in other words, she made the wrong choice.

    But then, there is Rebecca.
Rebecca had been most distraught about her being unable to bear children for such a long time…

Maybe Isa 54 makes reference to this? After all the Northern Tribes became divorced from the Household, just like Eve had been thrust out..

    Could there be a connection??

I am getting the sense the feminine view of what Almighty speaks, since he designed man in head of…, and chose Jacob to illustrate to be Israel for all future generations, to repent so the light would shine for His purpose.
Times in our day here in US seem to be revealing men are under the women as head! I’m praying for YHWH to perform heart. Change!
