Please Dr Gordon (uncle) don’t peg religious people as not seeing God as something beyond what we can fathom just because we’re “religious”. If a “religious” person is a constant seeker and therefore close to God and His Word, and not a prideful person, he/she is aware, all the more than a secular person, of how unfathomable God is. That God-awareness gap may be shortened somewhat between secular and a [truly] “religious” person but never closed. True wisdom is only from the God seeker, as He says in His Word, and therefore that gap can never be truly closed and fully understood by the secular folks.
I think to play with the “spirituality” aspect of addiction cure, as secular folk do, and not fully give credit where it is due (fully in Yahoweh) stunts the effective application of spirituality as part of the cure. I submit it is the most important part, but only if the addicted fully seek God in the process. Just look at all the profound testimonies of cures that are Messianic/Christian based in their primarily spiritual-based counseling approach.
Having said that, I thank you for sharing your excellent insight into addiction and potential treatments. I need as much understanding as I can get on the matter. One of my children is an alcoholic in remission and is studying to get certified as a counselor and it helps to understand what her struggles and challenges are in the process.
Dear Nehemiah I was listening to the ‘food’ addiction part of the conversation. There is a gut mind link to all that. Simplistically when your bad gut bacteria needs to be fed it signals your mind to ‘fed me’ and you are compelled to fed them -when they out weigh the good bacteria. . It is a long story which i would gladly share if you really want to hear it. Once I cleaned up my gut biome I felt as tho i had gone through a deliverance. I no longer craved or even desired any food. I felt -this must be what is is like to be ‘normal’. This happened all at once. With in 3 months i lost 40 lbs and continued on.🤗. I f you feel led please feel free to call or have your wife call so I can share or look up Dr Gundry or any one on this subject. I am a Christian and following you for a long time. Praying for your health as we need you 🙏 You both are a blessing. Thank you for all you do.
