Seventh Day | Shevi'i Atzeret
This Friday, April 10th at 6 pm central, we’re coming together for a special live webinar with Nehemia and Lynell. The Torah commands this day to be an atzeret (a communal assembly).
Join us for a special live-streamed session
On the first day hold a sacred assembly, and another one on the seventh day.
Do no work at all on these days, except to prepare food for everyone to eat;
that is all you may do.
Exodus 12:16
Date: Friday, April 10
Time: 6:00 PM Central Time
Nehemia will be teaching on:
Passover: Seventh Day of Assembly — Shevi'i Atzeret
This is a live webinar, and everyone is welcome to submit questions in the chat. We’ll answer as many as possible in real time.
If you’ve ever wanted to ask Nehemia a question directly, this is your opportunity.
We would be honored to have you gather with us for this special teaching.
While you wait, you can revisit this amazing teaching:
PASSOVER - What the Text REALLY Says
Have you ever wondered what the biblical text actually teaches about Passover? This session goes beyond tradition to explore the original context, language, and meaning behind one of the most significant events in Scripture.
Hello there all the way from Aussie – the land down under.
We’re having a little difficulty with scripture here: when we read Num 33:3-5 it says plainly “on the 15th day of the 1st month, the day after the Passover, the Israelites set out from Rameses they then camped at Succoth”, where we assume they were able to cook their ULB. This raises a question: how could they fit all the Passover Instructions in plus leave on the 15th day? We went back and re-read Ex 12:1-42 plus Deut 16:1 “left by night”. Ex 12:42 “kept a vigil that night to bring them out of the land of Egypt,”. Every thing had to be accomplished. The timeline doesn’t seem to correspond for the 15th day only wouldn’t the 14th day also have to be included? How does all this fit together? This has been a question mark for us for a long time.
As for preparing the Passover…
It was not Passover Day because they ate leavened bread together. ONLY UNLEAVENED BREAD IS EATEN WITH THE PASSOVER MEAL.
They came together to discuss all the things to be ready for the following day. In this case, Yashua already knew that He would be fulfilling the Passover and, in his mind, they were with him for moral support as he was preparing for his inevitable fate the following day which began after dark when the Roman soldiers came and grabbed him after Judas told them where to find him. Remember what he said to Judas who left that meeting with the 30 pieces of silver. He knew.
In order for Yashua to actually fulfill the Scriptures or to bring full meaning to the Feast, it had to be precision timing with the Feast.
The New Testament (Renewed Covenant writings) also said they took the bread and dipped it on the broth or gravy (a sop). You can’t soak up broth with unleavened bread. Also, the Pasach was to be cooked over fire/hot coals and not cooked in broth.
The Passover was not taken with leavened bread. Ex 12:8 They are to eat the meat that night, roasted over the fire, along with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. Yeshua would not have broken this command as the Passover day the 14th of Aviv/Nisan starts the evening beginning the 14th day.
I love watching you with your beautiful wife Lynell. I love your teachings. I am not a Biblical expert. Everything I “know” comes from Scripture as coming to it a a little child, meaning with no preconceived interruptions. I had to leave all my former understand and tradition to start fresh/new when I heard Yahshua say to me, “If you love me keep my commands.” I heard that voice while I was reading it from my Bible.
Over the past 20 years plus I have to say there is still a lot I do not know but there are things I know that I have not heard anyone else say, even Nehemia who is in my opinion more like Yahshua than anyone I ever met in my life, except my oldest son.
The one thing I do partly disagree with Nehemia about is the time of day the lambs were sacrificed. “Between the evenings” must be “beginning the time after high noon when the sun begins its decent in the sky until sunset.” I only say this because I am coming from a child-like perspective and considering the number of lambs and the number of Levites doing the sacrifices had to have time to perform them all for the entire nation gathered there to Jerusalem. There needed to be enough daylight to be precise. The actual act of the knife to the throat MUST be able to be seen clearly with the eye for it to be a swift death for the animal. We don’t want any near miss where the animal would suffer needlessly.
Again, I love you both and I love you all. Shalom
Passover should be on 4-3-26 as the new moon was sighted on 3-20-26.
We celebrated Passover at sunset on 4-3-26.
Yes! It began sunset April 3rd 🙂
You are right the new moon crescent was sighted the evening ending 20th March which makes 21st March day 1 of the count to Passover. Contuining the count brings you to Friday 3rd April as actual Passover day the 14th of Aviv. The 14th of Aviv starts the evening ending 2nd April (Thursday). The 1st day of Unleavened Bread falls on Saturday 4th April starting the evening ending the 3rd of April. Calling Passover including Unleavened Bread as Passover confuses everyone. Ex 12:1-3 are Yehovah’s instructions for Passover. Ex 12:14-20 are Yehovah’s instructions for the 7 days of Unleavened Bread. We understand they are two different appointed times with two different meanings. It just so happens Unleavened Bread follows Passover.
