In this Support Team Study, The Hidden Message of Purim, Bible Scholar Nehemia Gordon gives an overview of the story of Purim. Nehemia discusses the concept of this holiday being a national day of celebration, as opposed to a holiday ordained by Yehovah. He also explains the word “purim” and Haman using superstition to try and find an auspicious day to exterminate the Jews. How Haman underestimated Yehovah’s desire to protect His people and His ironic sense of humor. And Yehovah creating this elaborate miracle, which makes for a riveting fast pace story with a twist. Nehemia also looks at some possible explanations of why Hadassah was called Esther. And he stresses, what he thinks is one of the most important lessons of the story, that Yehovah has the power to act behind the scenes and uses us to do His will. Hopefully we will each be able to find the courage, as Esther did, to stand up for Yehovah and those that follow Him. Wishing everyone who chooses to celebrate this occasion commemorating Yehovah saving us from doom, a very happy Purim! Continue reading

Hebrew Voices #62 – Reggie White and The Secret Vault (Rebroadcast)
In this episode of Hebrew Voices, Reggie White and the Secret Vault, I share my experiences teaching Biblical Hebrew to the late football Hall-of-Famer Reggie White and tell the story of how we attained special access to a vault holding the actual pages of the Aleppo Codex, an opportunity which Reggie later famously called the best day of his life, better than even winning the Superbowl! In Hebrew Gospel Pearls PLUS #22, Salt of the Earth, Nehemia and Keith consider whether salt in the Sermon on the Mount represents purity, destruction, or the Messianic kingdom, what the daughter of Nicodemus and the Sages of Athens teach us about salt in First Century Jewish culture, and the purpose of keeping the Torah in Yeshua's plan for the kingdom. Support Team Study – The Secret Abraham Didn’t Know
Shalom Support Team! Thank you for standing with me on the Wall! In my Support Team Study, The Secret Abraham Didn't Know, I explore the depths of Exodus 6:3 and consider over a dozen possible explanations found in Jewish sources throughout the ages. This verse became pivotal in the deconstruction of the Torah by 19th Century German scholars who denied its Mosaic authorship. This anti-Torah latent antisemitism is predominant in universities and seminaries around the world, so addressing it is no trivial matter. I also talk about some aspects of this in chapter 2 of my book "Shattering the Conspiracy of Silence". Join me as I turn scholarly confusion into an intimate knowledge of God's holy name and essence! Support Team Study – The Lying Pen of the Scribes – PART 3/3
In this Support Team Study, The Lying Pen of the Scribes - Part 3, Bible Scholar Nehemia Gordon finds the true meaning of Jeremiah 8:8 in the sermon of an eighteenth century rabbi, delivered on the occasion of Christmas eve. Jews often had to lock themselves in their homes and synagogues throughout the night of December 24, as drunken mobs of Christian revelers took out their rage on "the enemies of Christ". This Christmas context becomes the key to unlocking what may be the most difficult verse in the Prophets. Be sure to first watch Part 1 and Part 2. Continue reading
Hebrew Voices #13 – The Truth About Christmas and Tammuz
In this episode of Hebrew Voices, The Truth about Christmas and Tammuz, Bible Scholar Nehemia Gordon connects with Dr. Richard Carrier, an expert in ancient religions who reads Greek and Roman texts the way Nehemia reads ancient Hebrew. Dr. Carrier uses his expertise to help Nehemia sort out the genuine pagan influences on Christmas from modern-day myths projected back in time by "dodgy" scholarship. They discuss Tammuz, Inanna (Ishtar), Mithra, Isis, Osiris, and other pagan deities with reference to the writings of Philo, Justin Martyr, Plutarch, Euhemerus, Plato and the Rambam. In closing, Gordon encourages listeners not to be afraid to check out ancient sources and to approach them with discernment and a prayer for understanding.

In this episode of Hebrew Voices, Religious Exemptions for Covid Vaccines, Nehemia Gordon talks with Prof. Michelle Mello about the legal status of “sincerely held religious beliefs”, what is happening in the US court system, and what we can expect from the Supreme Court. They also discuss why pro-abortion advocates do not apply “my body, my choice” to vaccinations and how “public health advocates” justify banishing law-abiding citizens from the workplace. Finally, they consider whether a future HIV vaccine would be mandated for those with high-risk lifestyles and how that scenario might be different from Covid mandates. Continue reading
